Ampliación de masía en el Ripollés
En la localidad de Campelles, se gesta la transformación de una masía que abraza la esencia rural de la Vall de Ribes. Nuestra propuesta de ampliación redefine la funcionalidad del espacio, focalizándose en una extensión de 36 m2 en la planta baja, fusionando la sala de estar, el comedor y la cocina en un único ambiente luminoso. Este nuevo espacio de doble altura se integra de manera fluida gracias a una cubierta expandida, manteniendo la pendiente, forma y materiales originales.
La propuesta incluye también un porche de 6 m2 en la entrada actual, enriqueciendo la conexión entre interior y exterior. La dualidad entre la cobertura existente y la nueva, entregada contra la fachada principal, resalta la cohesión estilística. Conservando las dos plantas y el bajo cubierta, la reforma redistribuye el espacio para proporcionar mayor altura en áreas estratégicas, como las habitaciones en la planta primera.
La fachada sur se ve enriquecida con dos nuevas aberturas que siguen la estética rústica, mientras que en la fachada norte se crean cuatro aperturas adicionales. El acceso principal se reubica en la fachada este para mejorar la accesibilidad, complementando las ocho nuevas aperturas estratégicamente dispuestas. La estética moderna se incorpora mediante marcos de hierro en las ventanas, otorgando un contraste contemporáneo al estilo rústico. La ventilación cruzada y la cuidada orientación solar garantizan la luminosidad en la sala durante las horas clave.
En el interior, una nueva escalera central, combinando elementos de obra y madera, redefine la circulación vertical. La reconfiguración de la planta baja permite la ampliación del baño y la incorporación de un espacio multifuncional. En la planta primera, uno de los dormitorios cede espacio para establecer un nuevo vestíbulo, marcando el acceso principal desde la fachada este. En la planta bajo cubierta, se renueva por completo la estructura, reduciendo su superficie y proporcionando más altura a las habitaciones.
Este proyecto, a través de la integración respetuosa con la arquitectura existente, redefine la vivienda rural, armonizando la tradición con la modernidad en la mágica Vall de Ribes.

"The house is 25% bigger, but it feels double the size. We were delighted to have Raimon and his team help us renovate Can Goll. We had lived here for 15 years and had long been waiting for the opportunity to completely renovate the house to make it larger, more modern, warmer and lighter. In the design there was a healthy tension between more modern approaches and maintaining a traditional appearance. In general this was resolved by making the inside of the house as modern as possible, none of those dark, dusty crooks and crannies, whilst the outside has largely maintained its traditional appearance. The exception is the dramatic new entrance staircase to the east, which gives us easy access to the road where we keep the car and the bikes. Whilst it was being built it looked “over the top” but now it is so useful and does not look out of place at all. As well as the “grand designs” the details were important to Raimon. There was an issue with the back wall of the kitchen. The builder’s solution would have reduced the length of the kitchen by 10
to 15 cm, not much, but it would have affected the whole layout of the cabinets and work surfaces. However Raimon made a special visit to deal with the issue and came up with a solution that enabled us to keep the original design that works so well. The house has changed from dark to light. A small regret is that we didn´t take the opportunity to increase the size of the windows in the other south facing rooms and perhaps included the wood burning stove within the underfloor heating system (although views on this vary between the property owners). Not that hours and hours and hours weren’t spent discussing the heating options! We have been back in the house for the last two years and there have been no problems, and we expect to stay here until we leave in a box!
